Facial masks are one of the most supportive yet underused steps in a skincare routine. When used consistently, they help the skin rebalance, repair, and restore itself.
At ORESTA, we love facial masks not only as an effective treatment but also an opportunity to pause and calm your nervous system, while also caring for your skin.
During winter, periods of stress, or hormonal shifts, skin tends to lose moisture and become more compromised. Regular masking helps replenish hydration, calm sensitivity, refine texture, and support the skin barrier.
Hydrating and calming facial masks can be used daily or several times a week. Some masks may be used nightly as an overnight treatment. You cannot over-mask. Skin recognizes nourishment.
How to Mask
Masking doesn’t have to be complicated but it does benefit from mindful application.
1. Cleanse Skin
Start with clean skin so your facial mask can work without barriers.
2. Apply Mask
You can use more than one mask at a time. For example:
-
A gentle purifying mask through the T-zone
-
A hydrating or calming mask on the cheeks and jaw
This targeted approach respects the fact that skin rarely has just one need.
3. Listen to Your Skin
If you’re addressing a specific concern—dryness, sensitivity, congestion, or dullness—masking with a hydrating or leave-on mask is incredibly supportive.
4. Remove or Leave On
Some facial masks are designed to be rinsed off, while others can be left on overnight. as a treatment. Follow the intention of the product and how your skin responds.
5. End with Nourishment
After masking, follow with your toner, serum, and moisturizer while the skin is most receptive.
Fifteen to thirty mindful minutes—sometimes overnight—is often all it takes to feel the difference.
