Merben founder Mercedes Benayon hand picks products from developing countries which support women and small scale farmers.
Merben’s dry brushes are made with a variety of natural sustainable fibers: jute extracted from the bark of the jute plant supports Bangladeshi farmers and families. Sisal from Kenya can grow in marginal, semi-arid areas and does not require fertilizers or pesticides, the ideal for developing agricultural areas. Coconut fibers, harvested from ripened coconuts grown by small scale farmers are an important source of income. Dry brushing helps remove dead skin, detoxify and stimulate circulation.
