- Use sunscreen. It's easier to prevent than correcting pigmentation. Apply and reapply SPF every 2 hours or after swimming or sweating.
- Inflammation causes pigmentation. Focus on reducing inflammation and strengthening your skin with anti-inflammatory skin care.
- Proper hydration is key for healthy skin. Be generous with your toner for optimum product absorption.
- Retinols and their alternatives are magic for lightening skin, but overuse will lead to irritation. For best results use every 2-3 days.
- Serums and masks are correcting powerhouses. Apply a serum twice daily and mask at least 3x a week for maximum brightening results.
- Seek skin care products containing vitamin C, retinoids (and their alternatives), bearberry and prickly pear to help fade dark spots and promote a more even complexion.
