3 ways to get grounded and glowing

What a stunning winter wonderland!

Amid the chaos, life can feel challenging and overwhelming so it’s important to find ways to achieve calm, to get grounded and to connect with yourself.

Here are 3 ways to stay grounded and radiant:

1. Practice Deep Breathing

Begin or end your day deep breathing to start the day with a clear mind or end the day with a deep, restful sleep. Sit or lay in a comfortable position and with your eyes closed, breathe in for 4 long counts and then breathe out for 6 long counts. Repeat 10 times. Try to visualize the roots of a tree growing from the bottom of your feet or your tailbone into the ground. You can add a mantra “I am safe. I am grounded. I am loved.” Deep breathing calms and slows your nervous system

2. Get outdoors

Make time to exercise every day. It can be as simple as taking a 10 minute walk around your neighbourhood or a cross country ski in the woods. We've all heard of forest bathing. Spending time outdoors, especially in nature helps reduces cortisol (the stress hormone) levels, strengthen our immune system and improve our mood.

3. Practice Self care

Skin care is self care and self care is self love. With your hectic schedules even if you feel there isn't enough time for you, it's important to give yourself permission to slow down, to be present and reconnect with yourself.
