According to David Suzuki, there has been an 80 per cent drop in the population of the Monarch Butterfly in the past twenty years. Monarch butterflies and other pollinators like bees are in trouble.

More than a billion milkweed plants - the ONLY plant where monarch lay their eggs and their babies’ (caterpillars!) first food are gone. This is mostly as a result of the use of the herbicide Glyphosate (Roundup) throughout the monarchs’ migratory range.

  5. CALL local garden centres and nurseries to ask them to order native milkweed plants for next spring
