Last year, Laryssa faced breast cancer and following her surgery and radiation treatment, she decided to run in Ottawa’s Run for the Cure.
No one is untouched by breast cancer. It reaches into families, friendships, workplaces, and communities. It changes lives in ways we can never fully understand unless we’ve lived it.
So many of our ORESTA clients are survivors. Some have fought it themselves. Others have stood beside a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend. Some have lost someone they love.
So we created an ORESTA Bosom Buddies team made up of survivors, sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends to run alongside Laryssa.
Last year, our ORESTA' Bosom Buddies team had 36 incredible women join Laryssa to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. It was an incredible day of support, kindness, friendship and laughter!
On Sunday, October 4th, ORESTA’s Bosom Buddies will again be participating in the Run for the Cure in Ottawa.
Please join our team.

We'd love to have you join our team. It's a 1 km or 5 km run or walk. It's a morning of laughter, tears, lots of hugs, and a whole lot of women showing up for each other.
We’re running (and walking) for Laryssa.
For every sister, mother, daughter, wife, grandmother, granddaughter, coworker and friend who is fighting.
For every woman who survived.
For every woman we lost.
For every woman still fighting.
And for every person who has ever loved someone through breast cancer.
Because no one should have to walk this road alone. 💗
If you can’t run with us in person, you can still run alongside us.
A donation is another way to show up for the survivors, for the families, for the women still fighting, and for the ones we carry in our hearts.
Every dollar helps support breast cancer treatment and research, bringing us closer to a future where every woman diagnosed has the care, treatment, and hope she deserves.
Last year, ORESTA’s Bosom Buddies raised over $23,000. No gift is too small. Every dollar moves us forward. Every donation over $20 will receive a tax receipt from the Canadian Cancer Society.
