Empowered Aging REALFLUENCER: Meet Carmen

carmen-portrait-1

Welcome to EMPOWERED AGING: Our Realfluencers series that feature real women in our ORESTA community that are shifting the narrative surrounding aging and living intentionally and boldly!

We'd like you to meet Carmen. To know Carmen is to love Carmen. She became a client 20 years ago, after seeing a segment by Kathie Donovan on Regional Contact. She claims that her first visit "proved to be a life skin care changer from facials to products and most of all the personal connection with Miss Oresta." Carmen's spunk and zest for life and love inspire us all.

When asked her age, she boldly replied "Empowered Aging is not being age pigeonholed, it's about being true, young at heart and ageless!" BOOM! Here is the rest of our interview with Carmen:

What do you love about getting older? Getting bolder!

What don’t you like about getting older? Ageism.

What is your evening skin care routine? My basic routine: clean, toner, serum (face & eyes) followed by add-on variations, which include: leave-on masques, balms, night cream.

What is the one thing you do that has changed your skin? Facials. Close to 20 years ago I was introduced to Oresta’s facials; my skin went from dull to radiant and my attitude to skin care has changed dramatically.

What is your favourite skin care product? Winner: Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Masque  Runner-up: Eminence Camellia Glow Solid Face Oil

What advice would you give to your younger self? Go free with kindness and…….wear sunscreen

What is your proudest moment? The moment I made my marriage life commitment 37 years ago.

What is your philosophy on empowered aging? Never ever think you are old!!!! Flying in freedom easy going all the way to the end.

Finish the sentence “I feel most beautiful when…” It's unexpectedly so!

“I live my life each day as it presents itself”.  If it means helping someone or doing absolutely nothing, I do it happily.  Needless to say, I have a long interest in photography.  Being behind the lens is my preferred place.  Lately, I like “to click and release the pic of the day”.  There is no reason to keep quadrillion photos.  I believe once they are taken and viewed a few times they are soon forgotten or misplaced.  Selectively looking back is more gratifying!

The shop lights up when Carmen enters. She's funny, and silly. She inspires us with her self care rituals and radiant glow.

Carmen, we are so grateful for you!
